England: "Islam har splittrat vårt land" /Most Britons Believe Islam has Divided Their Country

More than half of Britons say Islam has divided their country along religious lines.

The London Daily Mail reports only 25 percent of all Britons feel positively about Islam.

Fifty-five percent would also strongly oppose the building of a mosque in their neighborhood. That figure compares to only 15 percent who would have a problem with a church.

The full survey of British feelings towards Muslims is expected to be published in the fall.

Some experts say it will raise concern that the government's policy of social cohesion by backing moderate Islam and isolating extremism isn't working.
